2024 Robbins Family Foundation Grant Recipients

Warrensburg Cat Advocates, a fully licensed rescue located in Warrensburg, MO, serves as their county’s primary Trap-Neuter-Return organization serving the homeless cat population. Their 2024 grant will help fund vaccination clinics, equipment for newborn kittens, foster programs, and outreach within the community.

The Yellowstone Wildlife Sanctuary, located in Red Lodge, MT, supports education and environment by inspiring and informing visitors, tour groups, and youth groups about protecting our natural landscape and wildlife. Their first priority is the welfare of 32 resident animals and birds, providing them with appropriate diets, medical care, and enrichment. Their 2024 grant will be used to partially fund an update and expansion of their coyote enclosure.

The WYO PLAY Future Filmmakers Program exposes Sheridan, WY high-school and college-age students to professionals in the film industry who teach them the basics of writing screenplays, cinematography, sound recording, and editing through project-based learning. Their 2024 grant provides opportunities for high school and college-age youth in the Sheridan area to learn about multiple areas of filmmaking through workshops and the production of original short films.

STL Rhythm Collaborative, of St. Louis, MO, works to boost enthusiasm for tap dance and encourage audiences to enjoy rhythm in new ways through live performances. They collaborate with local musicians to celebrate the relationship of music and dance at community engagements throughout the area as well as providing workshops in dance and music theory for a variety of ages and skill levels. Their 2024 grant will help promote and fund The STL Rhythm Fest, an educational and performative event taking place in July.

Sheridan Community Education Foundation, Inc. Located in Sheridan, WY, the SCEF receives grants and donations that are targeted to support specific programs within Sheridan County School District. Their 2024 grant will help the Sheridan High School Drama Club travel and participate in the Wyoming State Thespian Festival for the second year in a row. The experience of participating in the State Festival last year was so positive for the students in December 2023, that it was an easy decision to make to set the group on the course to participate again in December 2024.

Rooted in Wyoming, located in Sheridan, WY, Rooted in Wyoming are dedicated to building and nurturing school and community gardens, in Sheridan County through a better understanding of local foods, nutrition, and sustainability in our community. Their 2024 grant will be used for construction costs associated with installing a new teaching greenhouse that will house a variety of projects and provide an indoor space for gardening during Wyoming’s shoulder seasons.

Messengers for Health Messengers for Health is an Indigenous non-profit organization located on the Apsáalooke (Crow) Reservation in Montana. Their mission is to grow, foster, and support trusted and respected community leaders to improve the health of Apsáalooke (Crow Indian) men, women, and children using solutions that respect and honor Apsáalooke strengths, culture, stories, and language. Their 2024 grant will go toward the Messenger for Health Transportation Program, which helps tribal members attend medical appointments.  

The Red Lodge Area Community Foundation of Red Lodge, Montana, seeks to connect people and build community by catalyzing change and sharing resources to build a strong ,vibrant, resilient, inclusive community. A current project they are involved in is The Carbon County Historic Rehabilitation grant program (CCHR), an initiative to fund brick-and-mortar projects involving historic properties in Carbon County, MT, and their 2024 grant will be put to use preserving and developing the Roosevelt Center, a historic building that will serve as a public multi-use space for arts, culture, conferences, events, and community civic dialogue.

Founded in 2008, The Missouri German Shepard Rescue has saved over 2,000 dogs to date. They are a small and growing breed specific rescue based in Kansas City, MO, that saves dogs throughout the Midwest. Their 2024 grant will be used to cover the expenses of their anticipated whelping litters, as well providing an adequate amount of money to cover vetting and boarding costs of their foster dogs.
